Chance me for Georgia Tech, Stanford, Case Western, MIT and Carnegie Mellon?

Hey long time lurker, this is my first account. I was just curious on what my chances were for these colleges. So here are some more things about me.

State: I live in GA.

Planned Major: Chemical Engineering

GPA:(Divided up between semester 1 and 2)

Unweighted Freshman(slacked off a bit some B's): 3.8 3.7
Weighted: 4 3.8

Unweighted Sophomore: 3.8 4
Weighted Sophomore: 4.2 4.4

Unweighted Junior: 4 4
Weighted Junior: 4.8 4.8

Average GPA (Unweighted/Weighted): 3.9/4.33

Classes: I take the most difficult classes available to me at my school. This includes AP chem in Sophomore year and AP English Lit and AP Bio in Junior Year. The only class that I took the was not the highest level was Honors Euro when I could have taken AP.

Test Scores: SAT: Math: 800 CR: 730 Writing: 720 = 2250
SAT Subject test Chem : 800
AP Chem: 5
Still awaiting results from other AP tests but I have good faith that those were 5 as well.

German C1 Language test: Passed with highest average in class. This certifies that I am basically a native speaker and could study at a German university.

Awards: Awarded the Goizueta award for Modern and Classical Languages for excellence in Chinese. This is an award given at my school for the best student in each language.

EC:On the Robotics team for 5 years which is extremely good, almost always wins the Regional and wins one of the major awards. However I do not have a leadership role in this team because it is a rather large team.

I went to German School each Saturday for 3 hours for the past 2 years.

I am a leader of the Chinese culture club since it was started last year.

I am on the starting team of the Science Bowl since last year.

Class Rank: N/A since school does not rank. It is a very top private school and feels that this would disadvantage middle of the road students who are also very smart. Hazard a guess for top 5%.

Essay: Haven't started my essays yet but I will work to make them above average.

Rec: Getting a rec from my AP Chem teacher who writes chemistry articles in large science journals. She also knows me well since she is the Mentor for the science bowl team.

Work Experience: Interning at a GA tech research facility for 40 hrs a week for 8 weeks. Unpaid. (Does this improve my chances at GA tech?)

Volunteer Work: Have done none so far but have already signed up for a lot of Project Open Hand hours packaging food, will have at least 20 hours by the end of the summer. I could go for 40. Should I?

Plans for Senior year: Taking AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP US and AP English Lang. So I guess I have my work cut out for me. I may volunteer a bit more or become a assistant teacher at the German School. Of course shooting for the best scores possible. Will also continue all my other EC.

So that is pretty much it. So... what are my chances? I know Stanford is a crap shoot but I am hoping that GA tech will make a good safety.

Georgia Tech's a match, and Case Western's a safety. Low Reach at CMU. High reach (for everyone) at Stanford and MIT.

You don't really need "help" getting in at Georgia Tech, but the fact that the research was done THERE won't help you at Georgia Tech... Research in general helps, though. If you got a letter from the GT professor you were working under, that'd probably help.

Best of luck!

I will try to get that letter, however I am worried about the fact that GA tech does not accept recs. Would a professor letter be different?

Ohh... Not sure. I was citing that as a rule of thumb.
