Chance Me For These Schools!!

Class of 2014
GPA: 4.469
Rank:1/477
SAT:I'm taking it in October. Shooting for anything from a 2000-2100, I doubt I could go much higher.
Volunteer Experience: Library volunteer summer of 2011, Hospital volunteer summer of 2012, I also volunteer at my school. 370+ Hours by the end of this summer.
Extracurriculars: Cross Country for both years in high school, Soccer for both years in high school, HOSA VP, Academic Decathlon, Debate team(2nd in the state in our first year as a team), National Honors Society, Environmental club president and founder.

Applying to Stanford, Duke, Emory, Rice, Cornell, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, University of Southern California, UNC

Thanks everyone!

It really is hard to tell without any SAT II's /SAT/ACT/AP scores
You do have decent leadership and extracurriculars so thats a plus
I see a couple of IVY's on your list+Stanford and some REALLY NICE schools.
To be a competitive candidate it is safe to have an SAT score that is 2200+
You have plenty of time left to study and ramp up your resume Good Luck

Shooting for a 2000-2100 at some of those schools like Duke, Stanford, USC, and Brown will be low, so try and shoot higher. Keep your grades up and being the valedictorian in your class will look really good to those schools I mentioned before if you can't get your SAT high. Take the ACT too if you take the SAT and don't do well. I didnt do very well on the SAT but took the ACT and scored a lot better, for some it's easier.

Good luck!

@UCgirl2013, I'm not taking any subject tests until Jan or March. I took 3 AP exams this year and i should know the scores in a few weeks.

your gpa and class rank are PERFECT haha

however, you definitely do want to work on (like the others said) your standardized testing through your SAT scores. try the ACT too! My SAT score was decent, but I wanted to retake it, and now I don't have to because I'm happy with my ACT score [hooray!]

your leadership stuff is great, and I would just advise you to do well on your sat ii/ap tests!

overall, solid shot at all your schools, but remember, the ivies + stanford and the like are basically lotteries once you get past a certain "academic" point!

good luck!

You're the class of 2014, don't worry for another year.

Your current GPA and class rank is fantastic, so keep up the good work! If you want to go for these schools, you should definitely shoot for an SAT score of at least 2200 or 2250, though. Your ECs look pretty good as well, just commit to whatever you're doing and show your passion.

I think if you do what I said above, you'll have a good shot at getting into USC, UNC, and Emory (since Emory is pretty academically influenced). However, the Ivys, Duke, and Rice all have arbitrary admissions, so I can't give you a good prediction, but I think you'll stand a decent shot at getting in.

Just keep up the good work! You'll only be a junior next year, so you have time to tweak your resume and start early on your college application process. Make sure you take challenging courses, but keep up your high GPA. If you do so, I think you'll have a good shot at getting into great colleges.
