Your academics are great. Even if Princeton did count freshman grades, I'm sure your GPA would be fine because you go to a competitive school, but I know for a fact that they don't consider freshman grades since they consider it a transition period. And your extracurriculars are great as well because you have a very clear passion in running and medicine (the Kenyan program sounds unique and interesting, in particular.) I think you'd have a decent chance even if you weren't athletically recruited, but if you can get recruited, your chances are quite high. Good luck!

@xquiksilverx Thanks! Yeah, a senior last year who was on cross country and track with me did the Kenyan program. We have similar times and she got recruited to Yale! Fingers crossed. Thanks again for your input!

You seem to have a good chance. All I'd do are get some more EC's centered around your planned major. P.S. I'm going into college as a pre-med, but I don't think I'll apply to Princeton, since they don't have a medical school. I don't know if this affects their pre-med, but I'm guessing it does. If I'm wrong, correct me.

Wow you have a good GPA and good SAT scores. Your ECs also look very good. Also because you go to a prestigious private school that will help you even more. Even tho HYP is a low reach for everyone I would have to say that I would not be surprised if you got in. Best of luck!!!

Chance me??

Chance me for OSU(Also EA or RD??)

Chance for UMiami?? (WILL Chance back) very desperate

Honestly, there's nothing else you can do to help yourself (other than being recruited, but that's obvious) so just sit back and watch the roll of the dice

@my88keys Yeah, I know they don't have a medical school, but from what I've read, their pre-med program is fantastic with great professors, and they have top-notch med school acceptance rates. So, even though there's no medical school, the pre-med is still great. (I want to go to NYU medical school anyways.) As for what you said about the EC's, I agree, I'm working on getting an internship with a doctor! Thanks for the advice and good luck as a pre-med student!
@raca1111 Thanks! I sure hope so!
@Murphy600 No one knows for sure, but apparently they do not. I'm going to contact the admissions office to try to find out (anonymously of course), but apparently a book called "A Is For Admission" says they don't. And, yeah, I'm hoping to play the sports angle. Thanks for the advice!
@coola426 Thanks! I really hope I get in; my school sort of has special ties to the Ivies, Duke, JHU, etc. because they send so many girls to them, so I think that should help me. I'll chance you right when I get on a computer tonight, promise! (Right now I'm on my phone.) Thanks for your input!
@yaycollege2 My 5K personal best is a 20:05. The D1 cutoff is a 20:15, I looked it up. A girl on my XC team last year got recruited to Yale with a 20:15 or 20:10. As long as your grades are good, a time like that can do it. Good luck!
@TheKongo It's so hard to wait, haha. I know what you mean, though, I think I've done everything I can.
Thanks for the advice, everyone! Much appreciated. Best of luck to all.

Your test scores, your grades after freshman year, strong extracurricular activities, and your school's high national ranking should get you into Princeton. Like some other people said, they look for different kids every year, but you definitely fit their standards. Early action will also be helpful!

Like others mentioned, just make sure you know what other schools you want to apply to. Princeton isn't the only amazing school!

And being a cross country runner myself, I think your times are very good, don't get me wrong. Yet, I do know Princeton has one of the top "cross country/distance" running programs in the nation. They are known as one of the best; they can compete again Oregon, Stanford, Washington, and other big schools.

So, just to make sure, I would contact the coach now and get your name out there. I think it will be a lot easier for you to run there if he knows you now. Hope I helped!

At first when I saw your times I was like that's not competitive.... But then I realized you were a girl haha. By the way, where did you find the cutoff you are talking about, I run 15:43 (I am a guy) would this be under the male cut off?

Great EC's and test scores. You have a really great chance as a recruited athlete.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I really appreciate it
@yaycollege2 Wow, your times are way under the male cutoff! Here's the link: College Cross Country Scholarships. Cross Country Recruiting.
Good luck!

The combination of your SAT score, the prestige of your school, and your phenomenal ECs will surely make you a very competitive candidate. If you apply EA, then I do believe you have a very strong chance. You seem to be very passionate about your interests, and if you are able to convey this passion in your essays, then you really should have this in the bag. However, it's important to keep in mind that with top schools, it really is a complete crapshoot with admissions. While I do believe you definitely have a good chance with Princeton, you should of course still apply to other less competitive schools for safety. But yeah, I would be surprised if you don't get in. Good luck!!!!

Really, the cut off is above 20 minutes? I'm a male and not a competitive runner, but I run in local races (my 5k is ~19 minutes) and a handful of girls blow me away every time. Solid chance for Princeton though. I hope it works out.
