What are my chances as a transfer student?

I am currently a freshman in my first semester. Last year when I was applying to college I got into nearly all the schools I applied to but could not enroll because I had to stay home and take care of my mother who fell ill. At home I decided just to go to my local university, the University of Central Florida (UCF). I informed my top two schools (University of Miami (UM) and Fordham University (FU)) of my circumstances and UM agreed to extend my enrollment to spring which means I can attend in January. FU did not. Now that my mother is better I placed my spring deposit at UM and I can now enroll in classes and what not. On the other hand, FU is not letting me enroll at a later date and told me I need to reapply. I really hate UCF and want to leave as soon as possible so for spring. FU is my number 1 choice but because I have to reapply I am not sure I will get in the second time around as a transfer student. This is because I am not really a transfer student because I have not completed a semester in college yet. I am in limbo. What are my chances of getting in as a transfer without being a transfer student basically?

Note: I already called them and they said it HAS to be reviewed as a transfer and brand new app.

I'm assuming that you would much rather go to FU than UM. Who says you have to even enroll this spring. Take time off, it sounds like you deserve it. Band the rest of this semester with a high GPA and go to clubs, then apply for admission next fall to FU. I almost guarantee you will get it. Good Luck!
