Middlebury and Carleton: reach due to your low test scores
Skidmore: match?
Hamilton: low match
ED will probably give you less money. However, check with the school's admissions. I know at UPenn if you cannot affor your tuition after EDing they will "forgive" you and allow you to withdraw your app. So if you really want to go to Hamilton I suggest you to ED due to the competitiveness of getting into college these days! Good luck with everything and chance me back too!

I would not call Skidmore a safety. I know of several kids with higher scores who got waitlisted. If you show genuine interest and visit, that might help.

Middlebury is test optional and so not sure why people are dinging you on your test scores. Carleton = high reach, Middlebury = reach, Hamilton = low reach (agree with person who says apply ED here), and Skidmore = match.

Thanks, for all the feedback! I'm getting a bit confused about the difference between high match and low match, people keep using them in different way. Could you clarify?

Yes, I think someone meant "reach" but wrote "match"?

Hamilton is supposedly good with fin aid and you said it is your first choice. ED gives you an edge.

I agree, go for Hamilton ED...but start lining up at least two safeties.

It would help other posters if you specify what are your academic interests and preferences.

Good luck!

Middlebury is not test optional; one must submit SAT I, ACT, or 3 SAT IIs, so some test scores need to be submitted.

muckdogs, not sure where you get your information. Middlebury, as PP99 already pointed out, is not test optional. Second, if you say Carleton is a high reach, then how could Middlebury be simply a reach? It's got a lower acceptance rate and a higher/similar test score range.
