Transfer student chances of getting into University of Maryland College Park

I am currently at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. I have always wanted to go to University of Maryland but I did not have the high school grades to apply. I am getting mostly A's and B's at Stonehill and I am considering transferring. I would have enough credits to transfer for the spring semester (which I would enjoy because I do not like my current school). If I were to get around a 3.5 GPA and apply for the spring semester. I had a 2.81 in high school, I struggled in high school but had a lot of EC's and I hope my GPA in college will show tremendous improvement. I got a 1700 on my SATs and will have to submit my scores to UMCP.

What are my chances for admittance?

I'm not sure about out of state but I got in with a 3.2 and have 38 credits earned. In the process of having 50 at my CC. Spring is typically less competitive since there are less applicants and drop-outs from the fall. Maryland also likes to see freshman english and math completed. I would say you stand a good chance.
