Chance me to Northwestern Univ.

Hi, I am a international student from Korea. I attended America high school for 2 years.
I currently decided to apply Northwestern Univ. with Early Decision plan to Mechanical Engineering.

Unweighted : 3.9837/4 Rank: 21/306
Weighted : 4.439 Rank: 87/306

for weighted class rank there is comment in my transcript explaining why it is so low:
Hohyun transferred from a school in Korea and has fewer semester of coursework than his peers. Due to the way we calculate Weighted Class Rank, he is at a disadvantage. Please consider this when utilizing his Weighted Rank for admissions purposes.

I am going to write my academic situations like this in my additional information

I heard Northwestern does superscore ACT.
ACT: English/Math/Reading/Science/writing/composite
27/35/20/35/8/29
31/31/25/31/6/29
I am going to combine these two scores to superscore:
31/35/25/35/8/32

Also I took SAT subject tests: (October one's score is not ready yet)
Physics 770
Math 2: 800

I took 2 AP classes last year
AP Statistics: 4
AP Chemistry: 4

I am taking 3 AP classes this year:
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
AP Physics C Mechanics

-NHS
-Hallelujah
-Key Club
-Prayer Group Co-Leader
-Mu Alpha Theta
-Math team
3rd in regional ( Calculator team & 8 Person team)
-Mexico mission
-Praise Team
-SMT (Student Ministry Team)
-Science Club in Korea: 9th. In Individual Invention Contest, 2nd place in school and 1st place in regional, and qualified for states. Invention: 'Stop Light For Color Blind Drivers.'
In, Individual Science Competition, 2nd place in school, and top ten in regional.

Take the ACT one more time, and try to write a fantastic personal statement. For your ACT score, I would strongly recommend that you get a 33+ to hold a strong chance at Northwestern, it's a fairly competitive school.

NWU is one of the more reachable "reach-for-anyone" schools so I'd say that, while a reach, it's reachable, especially at 33+.

Your budget please... it is going to affect you for a lot of schools.

U Michigan (EA): Safety (even if the advantage brought by EA is ultimately destroyed by your ethnicity; I think Koreans are disadvantaged at U Michigan)
UIUC: Low match
UCB: Low match (OOS helps, and, along with UCLA and UCSD, the only public schools where OOS actually helps)
GA Tech: Safety

For UIUC: My dad works at UIUC as a faculty, visiting professor.
For UCB: Yes, I am OOS.
Does this do any change to my chances? Thanks.

I think you have a good shot at getting into all the schools you listed, but Northwestern is up in the air. They don't superscore all of the individual ACT sections, so you are currently left with a 29 ACT. That probably will not cut it for NW, but Michigan, Berkeley and the others are fantastic schools!

You have great chances at UIUC and Georgia Tech. (I think you will get into both of them.)

UCB: It is a reach school but decent chances.
NW: Your only chance is by ED. It is a reach school though. I don't think you will get into NW in RD round.

Good luck!
