An interesting situation. Justin describes himself as 50% African since his mother is from South Africa. The issue of race in the context of Under Represented Minority (URM) is not clear here. His mom could be white. In addition Justin is a Canadian national. Does the URM status extend to foreign applicants?

all these schools are a match. You have a 80 to 90% chance

Your SAT is low for NYU, so I definitely would not say 80% or 90% chance. NYU is a reach for you.

I was hoping NYU would be a high match with my GPA, ECs, very good essays, high interest in the school, and a so so SAT

It'd be VERY beneficial if you raised your SAT score (try taking December's)

USD - High Match
USF - High Match
NYU - Low Reach
U.o.W - Match

UCSD- match
USan Fran- match
NYU- Low Reach

At a 2000 SAT score I'd change NYU to a Match/High match

Chance me back, please: Chance me for UC's, UPitt, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, etc! Will chance back!
