Applied to 15 schools. Curious about my chances for admission to Amherst, Williams, Yale, Duke, Swarthmore, Haverford, Skidmore, and William and Mary. I appear to have missed the "early write" period, which I know at least Amherst, Williams, and Swarthmore employ. With chances for regular decision applicants slimming (now 10% at Williams), I'm curious to know where I stand. Being the first in my family to go through the college application process in the last 30 years, is there any reason to avoid contacting colleges? There is one college on that list that I want to attend well above all others. Is it frowned upon to write an additional letter to restate a particularly strong interest and hopefully put in an extra good word as my file is being considered?

I got accepted to Amherst and Williams, and I have a similar stats with you(I have a little bit higher gpa and sat, more aps though). So I think you have a great chance. I think it depends on your essay.

I got accepted to Swarthmore and you have slightly better SAT scores than me so I say you could make it there. However, like kokoda2 said, it probably depends on your essays in the end
