I think that overall, my GPA is fine for the level of coursework I've taken and the schools I want to go to (hovering around a 3.8/3.9). My SAT, however, I'm ashamed of. I scored a 31/12 on the ACT plus writing and my SAT is (supposedly) comparable to about a 26 on the ACT... I guess I'm going to have to take it again.... I may not look like a saint compared to some kids on here, but I know that for a lot of schools, a 28 or 29 is a solid score...

Did not quite fully comprehend how important fit was at the beginning of the search. Now, there are several schools on my list that I know I should not have applied to. You'd be amazed at how intense the pressure was to go to an Ivy League school, and then realze the ones I applied to were not for me.

GPA..def, because my 9th grade year was a mess... my 10 grade year i carried the tradition(started in 8th grade) of at least one D per year...thyis year i could have been trying harder but my issues were in the way, just got a therapist so i hope to round out the year well. Do I hear a C-less 4th nine weeks report? (I should have tried for all A's and me & my big attitude got one of my sure A turned into a B for one 9 weeks.)
I mean i'm golden ( kinda... haven't taken the SAT yet.. Psat's were high in crit reading, average like in writing (not if there was an essay on the test, math -BAD.) But i will take a prep class that i won't fall asleep in.

I would have changed how I applied. Should have applied for a science major instead of pol. sci. My verbal was only 670 while my math was 780... Anybody know how much this affected me?

nobody knows. i'll take a guess.

if you applied at really competitive schools like Harvard, Yale, etc., it might have hurt you, but by no means did it cause your rejection.

I wish I had tried at my Extra Curricular activities before Junior year. Granted, I still have 3 leadership positions, but still...
