GPA hands down.
SAT and EC would be the second choices.

I did worse on the SAT II test in my intended major than I did on the others I took. All my other grades and scores were positives, and this dragged me down.

Extracurriculars are a close 2nd but I would say SAT/ACT. I was SO lazy in studying for them. I studied for the SAT for about 2 weeks, and studied for the ACT for one day. ONE DAY! And I got a 32. I imagine I could have made almost a perfect score with a couple months of studying.

I got a B (by .2 points) because I didn't press the issue of my 11th grade English teacher losing my work. I would like to think that someone in guidance should have noticed that my only B came from a teacher who wrote the guidance department a letter about how I'm a horrible student and person, but whatever, it was last year.

This poll goes to show that by far, one of the most important components of college admission will be GPA.

Crap.

Nothing on there for this, but the part where I was suspended for academic misconduct freshman year.

I wish I had more research and also sports/arts. My GPA/SAT are decently high, but my ECs aren't that great outside of medicine and tutoring (volunteer).

Well, I'm gonna mix it up a bit and say
If I knew then, what I know now....
my son would have never gone to the college he was wait listed at...after four hard years, it was not enough fun and wayyyyy to much money so if he could have changed one thing on his application, it would be not to send it to schools that were too demanding and too expensive and instead send it to our state school's main campus...way more fun, way less expensive, and way better career services....(our second child is there!)

My application. It had 4 typos in it which may keep me out of my dream school.

My SAT's pretty happy, tons of ECs, haven't done my interviews yet, but oh my god. My GPA. Three B's and I want MIT. One B is in Calc BC. *stress*
