This was two years ago, but still could be important...

Accepted: Brandeis, Mount Holyoke, Scripps (attending), Smith, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Honors, University of Wisconsin - Madison
Waitlisted: Grinnell
Rejected: Barnard, Macalester, Wellesley

White Female
School type: Suburban Public (MN), most students attend school instate or within the region (Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Dakotas, Michigan)
Prospective Major: I think I applied with Political Science
GPA: 3.6 UW, school didn't rank. Took all possible APs and honors (5 APs, 2 honors)
Class rank: Don't remember exact rank, but in top 15% UW (again, school didn't weight, so all the AP kids got screwed)
ACT: 29 (33R 31E 25M 26S)

ECs: taught violin lessons to underprivileged students in inner-city schools through a volunteer program I founded with three friends (we supplied all instruments, books, and supplies through fundraisers). Debate team captain, orchestra (one of top in state), chamber orchestra, spanish club president, spanish tutor, helped with synagogue religious school.

RagingBull, what is your race?

Finale, are Indian-Americans considered URM or are they considered Asian-americans (ORM) which makes it as difficult for them as for whites? You know so many languages, wow!

no collegebound is not confused. why would he ask if indian americans are grouped with other asian americans? i'm pretty sure columbus was the last person to confuse indian americans with american indians

indian american is ORM, there is a big proportion of indians are extremely strong in terms of college admission

jimbob1225, because he was implying that indian americans might be thought of as URM's. Indian is a common name for Native Americans. That's why finale said that....
