High SAT Score, Not-so-high GPA

How does a SAT score weigh in when applying to a college? Because I got a fairly high SAT score (at least I think) of 1860. But my GPA is at a 3.2.

Does the SAT score improve my chances of getting into a better college?
Where should I apply to?

with a 2.2 your college choices are very limited and sry to break it to ya but 1860 isn't high at all, but its not what causes the problem.

if you had say a 3.2 and a 1860 ud be in a whole different ballgame

If you'll around the website here you'll notice that most people have a 2100, (i think there was a poll for average SAT score a while back). This is because these people mostly want to go to the ivy and top colleges. You should be able to go to your local state school with that gpa/sat combo.

IndieHouse-
disregard shopaholic's jerkish comment. A 3.2 and a 1860 is quite good. You definitely have alot to look forward to in the College Process. Probably look at local colleges or maybe even go to a Junior college for two years (get a 3.6+) then go to your favorite college. I think you already know you are not going to be looking too much at the ivies but state schools there is alot of possibility. Good luck!
