Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tips

Hi, I'm an early admit to mit, and vividly remember searching these forums to find some answers before I received my decision. In case you want to know, here are my stats:

SAT1: 800M 770V
SAT2: 800Math2 800Chem 730 Writing

Doing the IB Diploma, report grades
7 Physics
7 Chemistry
7 Math HL
7 English A1
6 German A2
7 Info. Tech
7 Further Math

Also am student council chair, play music for 12 years and do hobby computer programming. And I had a great interview.

I guess these are the kinds of things being looked for. In the interview the things that seemed to strike the loudest bells were:
-- I had persuaded my math teacher to do an IB further math SL course (a 2 year course) -- in the time of only 8 months.
-- I had organized large events at my school as the leader of the student council.
-- I did some playing around with robotics in my basement.
-- I and my band frequently get kicked out of school at closing time during practice.

In the interview I asked lots of questions -- Important!

My summer jobs were prettty sad (i.e. nonexistent because you can't be properly employed in Europe when age < 18), and I didn't really have any awards, except National Merit commended scholar, and some school-internal awards.

I'm enrolling in August, and hope to see you there!
