So, where to start. I'm not really that dumb, I'm just lazy. I now regret my highschool years, and I wish to repeat them again! I'm a senior and I took all honors and ap classes. Hear me out, I've been getting stuck with math teachers who cannot teach at all, and leave after one year not caring about the students! I'm not blaming them, I just wish that this will not happen in the future... I know my gpa is under a 3.0, probably around a 2.7.

I want to see if I can raise my gpa up to a 3.0 before I send apps in!!! This is really important.

So with an 1830 SAt, looking to raise it up to atleast a 2100 and I'll try really hard as in I'll work like a nerd! I'm going to do my best to get straight a's this semester as well as bring my sat up! I'm taking ap chem, ap calc, ap gov/macro, ap lit, forensics, and spanish 4.

So if all goes well, I'll have atleast a 2000 SAT, just a bit under a 3.0 gpa and also volunteer work in keyclub and other clubs. I did a lot of clubs! So please chance me!

2.82 GPA with your summer class; 2.75 GPA without that class.

You are setting your sights WAY TOO HIGH.

    vanderbilt: REJECT
    gatech: REJECT
    uga: ???
    emory: REJECT
    syracuse: REJECT

Awe man!! Comeon, as in the tiniest of hope. How'd you calculate my gpa with the summer classes? I've been getting 2.73
  • alextharpalextharp Posts: 97Registered User Junior Member
My friend applied to tech two years ago with a 3.0 gpa and 740 math score, 620 language, and 620 writing and got in.
  • alextharpalextharp Posts: 97Registered User Junior Member
Actually he got in with a 3.0 and a 740 math, 590 on both cr and writing.

Your GPA and SAT are below his 3 and 1930, and your math SAT score is very low for tech.

I may have miscalculated, but your GPA is below 2.9 for sure.
  • alextharpalextharp Posts: 97Registered User Junior Member
Yea, I'd figure my gpa was really low, but I'm looking forward to raising it up as well as my SAT math score. It's definitely not impossible as i've got perfect on one section a few times before. But not the others :D
  • GaffeGaffe Posts: 877Registered User Member
You won't break 3 even if you get A's in all your senior classes.
  • alextharpalextharp Posts: 97Registered User Junior Member
That's what I thought and calculated too. Dang it! If only I could have raised those b's to a's!!

Do you guys know any colleges that takes really high sat scores rather than gpa?
  • GaffeGaffe Posts: 877Registered User Member
Your SAT will never be a substitute for your GPA (your classes and grades earned in them). Your GPA is more important than your SAT.

Your high SAT but low GPA shows that you were lazy and/or chose too many honors/AP classes to do well in them. This situation indicates that you have the potential to do well in school but you did not; admission officers see this as a bad combination.
