Your GPA gets you into any UC except LA and Berkeley. Your SAT scores are on the low side for them.

UCSD you have a decent shot.

btw are you sure your UC gpa is 4.3? it's usually lower than your weighted GPA and you have a 4.27 for that

How do you have a UC GPA of 4.3 when you only have 3 weighted courses? As I see it, it's a 4.15, though I don't have a view of all your courses. (In your case, I don't see how your W GPA is lower than your UC GPA.) Your SAT is a little low for Berkeley, and your ECs don't really distinguish you. The work experience is very good, though. Are you an ELC applicant?

Berkeley: slight reach - reach
UCLA: slight reach - high match
UCSD: safe match - safety

The rest of the UCs are safeties.

Uc Gpa

"To determine your eligibility, the University calculates your GPA in the "a-g" subjects by assigning point values to the grades you earn, totaling the points and dividing the total by the number of "a-g" courses. Points are assigned as follows: A=4 points, B=3 points, C=2 points, D=1 point, and F=0 points. (Pluses and minuses are not calculated in the grade point average.)
Only the grades you earn in "a-g" subjects in the 10th and 11th grades - including summer sessions - are used to calculate your preliminary GPA. Courses you took in ninth grade can be used to meet the Subject Requirement if you earned a grade of C or better, but they will not be used to calculate your GPA."

The way I calculated my UC GPA is by following that above...
Disregarding my 9th grade GPA

10th grade –
I had no weighted courses.
I took Alg2/trig Honors, chem, English Honors, band, Spanish II, World History
Got straight A’s first semester and one B in band second semester
According to UC site, my school's Alg2/trig Honors and band doesn’t fall into a-g subjects. That makes the # of a-g course that I took in 10th grade 4.
That makes the total points 16 (4+4+4+4).

11th grade -
I had 2 AP courses and 1 weighted honors course.
# of a-g course I took is 6.
I got straight A's both semesters, which makes the total points 27 (5+5+5+4+4+4)

I added up the points, 16 and 27, and got 43.
Dividing 43 by the number of “a-g” courses, 10 (4+6), is 4.3

This is how I got my UC GPA...
Did I do something wrong??

By the way, thank you for your replies.

Your alg2/trig definitely does fall under a-g subjects. However, the "honors" bit doesn't -- in other words, you don't get added points for it, as it isn't a UC-approved honors course.

Sorry. I rechecked it. You guys were right.
Both Band and Math course were a-g courses.
So, I had a total of 24 semesters of a-g courses.

47+54 = 101
101/24 = 4.21 = UC GPA
