My chances for some Florida Schools?

Hey guys, just wanted some opinions on what everyone thinks my chances are for the following schools....

Florida State
Univ. of Florida (reach)
Central Florida

Here are the stats...

In state

GPA: 3.73 as calculated on the same exact scale used by the Florida State University System. This is in all Honors or AP classes. Haven't stepped foot into a "regular" class room my high school career.

SAT: 1190/1600 I've only taken it once and that was without studying a lick. Signed up to take it again June 7th and will actually study and aim for mid 1200s.

ECs:
Beta Club
Student Government
Mu Alpha Theta (math club)
Future Educators of America
National Youth Leadership Conference Nominee
Varsity Football- 2 years
Varsity Track- 2 years
Junior Varsity Basketball (stopped playing due to lack of time)

Tentative Senior Schedule:
3 Dual Enrollment Classes
AP Psychology
AP Literature
Calc
Exploratory teaching (aka- Teacher's aid)

Comm. Service-
100+ hours so far earned by helping elementary teachers after school, by grading papers, laminating, etc.

40+ hours from working summer basketball camp

Not sure if you guys need any other info to give informative opinions...just ask if you do.

Consider yourself in FSU and UCF already. Both are pretty easy schools to get into, especially with your grades.

UF has gotten very selective over the years, and I don't think your SAT scores are going to cut it. I'd say retake your SAT's and take the ACT. If you get above 1270/28, you have a good shot.

From the FSU admissionbs page: The middle 50% of the Fall 2008 accepted freshman class is: 3.7-4.2 GPA; 1190-1330 SAT (Critical Reading plus Math); 26-29 ACT.

Your weighted GPA is at the lower end of the middle 50%, as is your SAT. (The lowest 25% is misleading, remember that this is where the recruited athletes, and those who gain admission with auditions in dance, music etc make up the majority, not your average student.) Work on getting your SAT scores up. Start working on your essay. Apply early, and apply for summer and you will have a decent chance at FSU.

He should be in at FSU with a 3.7 W in all honors/APs... Hate to say it but the GPA stats for every school are always misleading.

"Consider yourself in FSU and UCF already. Both are pretty easy schools to get into, especially with your grades."

^^^^This statement is so ridiculous it's not even funny. Please share with the rest of us on how you arrived to this conclusion. You obviously didn't look at the admission stats before posting. Or maybe you thought that FSU meant Fresno State.

Anyway, back to the topic. To the OP, try raising your SAT scores to at least 1200. Your stats look pretty solid, but could be a little better in order to gain admission. Good luck!

I know that in my D 's school in miami: class of '08 ,only 5 students got accepted to UF and everybody else was accepted to FSU and UCF.. It seems like it's easier to get into FSU and UCF than to UF! UF looks very selective to me.

I would say in at all if you raise the sat score maybe 100 pts.

UF is really the only one that has become selective (florida resident here), and you should be able to get into that, I would think. UCF and FSU, as stated previously are quite easy... but I would say high match/low reach for UF
