I know a girl who got into Dartmouth with a 28/36 ACT, which translates to about 1867/2400 on the SAT. And she definitely didn't have a 4.0.

I know.
I'm really looking for info on Cornell, UPenn, Columbia and Brown
Cause I know i have no shot at HYP and Dartmouth is too far from me to even bother to apply.

I'd imagine that there are some 1600's maybe even lower accepted into Ivy's, not just because they are URM's but ebcause they see something else in their resume or so they can say we accept people from Range a to B.

Ivies strive for the most diverse and interesting student body they can get, so it is really just a crapshoot. Even many people with 2400/36/4.0 get rejected.

if u add the lowest of all my SAT scores... u get 1940...and i made MIT, Stanford, Princeton , Wharton, Stern and a few others. while being waitlisted at HY and caltech.
although Cornell did reject me :P
consider though that my most recent SAT score did add to 2220...but yeah...this is in the International applicant pool.
Moral of the story: SATs dont really matter much, but if you are stressed, take them a few times. I took them 3 times.

At my high school an athlete I know got into Harvard with a 3.3GPA and a 1150 SAT. Conversely our Sal with a 1600/1600 and a 4.0UW got rejected from HYP, Dartmouth, and Columbia (went to Brown). Ivies have their own needs. But you'll need to be in a highly desired category (virtuoso, URM, athlete, really high powered legacy) to get in without top stats.

Slipper1234 has it right. You need to have a serious hook to get in with medicore(relatively) stats.
