| what are my chances for BROWN princeton williams american unc and uroch? !!!!YOU DO NOT HAVE 2 READ ALL THIS IF YOU DONT WANT TO. YOU CAN JUST GO 2 MY STAT PROFILE!!!!!
I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to Brown. the close relationship w/ RISD, RISD's museum I could work in, no requirements, # of students &pop of city, guaranteed housing, most live in on campus all 4 years, not much greek life, not super sports centered, has a grad school but its undergraduate focused. im going 2 apply ed.
also considering others listed above. and im a serious legacy at princeton btw (bro dad cuz's grandad gr8 uncle uncles etc)
also have any good idea for safeties?? I really want to get out of the south, i cant afford to visit schools in the west unless there's something really exceptional, and i really dont want 2 go 2 a super preppy or conservative school.

| I think UNC, URoch are good low reaches? American you will get in pretty easily I think. Princeton, even if you have a legacy, is insanely hard, so I don't know about that, though it surely doesn't hurt to try. Brown is a reach, but certainly not impossible.
Good Safeties: UMichigan, Boston University? maybe
I think you would like NYU, and it's not that hard to get into.
What is your SAT/ACT, leaderships, community service? |

2250
cr: 780
math: 710
writing: 760 (8oo mc, 8 essay-i suck at timed writing I just freeze up!)
my psat score is in the running 4 nat merit also, i just wont find out the resultsb till later
act: 32-1st time (im trying to remember the subscores...)
sci:29?
math: 30?
cr:35?
writing:32?
(i really don't think i got the subscores right at all!)
-community service- at local elementary school working w/ underprivileged kids (so cliche!) volunteer with open door home, boys and girls club,
-admissions committee-give lots of school tours etc(my school is boarding and day)
-community service liaison at my school
-volunteer(-ed)/interned everyday for 1hr/1.5hr at local area council 4 the -arts and local art gallery until it had to shutdown this jan.
-peer tutor
-president of stand chapter at my school ("take a stand for darfur")
-president of amnesty
-vp of french club -99%confident will be pres next year
-varsity scholar bowl (the quiz team)
-have done artwork for various events etc
-one of leaders for student support team-group at school promoting healthy living and lifestyle-drug free, no eating dosorderws, no drinking, etc
-environmental awareness club (active in; no leaders for group-just faculty member running it)
-student representative for "no place for hate committee"- working w/ headmaster, dean of students, and the faculty and parent rep to totally revamp the school's "tolerance" policies, etc. huge amount of planning, big deal
-have run several assemblies at my school about human rights- actually my proudest high school moment by far. one was specifically about the genocide in darfur, the other on mlk day about applying kings message to our life today and the under-serviced, discriminated against groups in society.
-organized a darfur awareness week
-part of soar- students organized to assist in raising- student fundraising- top fundraiser for 3rd consecutive year.
-starting after ap's i will interning every day with the head of institutional advancement at my school-read head of raising $- =big deal. my itsby bitsy private school was recognized, alongside yale, for being the top fundraisers in proportion to their size.
-huge part of impact-Inspiring minds to promote awareness of cultures together- basically human rights, acceptance of everyone etc on the small scale, within my school's community
-art-special focus on pencil, oil, figure drawing
-theater-w/out all the teen-ish connotations that go w/ it-i only like doing pieces that have characters of deep emotional depth whom i can explore. i've only really done a couple plays in high school b/c of, but when i did i won a ton of awards...(wow i sound really cocky)
-voice
-i really love public speaking and had the oppurtunity to do alot of it in middle and won a lot of contests but i havent been able to do it since then (except for the assemblies of course, which rocked)
^i dont know why i even put the bit about public speaking, but i really do miss it terribly! |

| The Ivys, in general, are difficult to predict. Are you from NC? If you are, then you have a good chance for UNC since it takes so many NC students. You have an excellent chance at the U of Rochester. |

| no. im from ga. they havent officially told us yet, but my class rank is in the top 10 (out of 115ish)-i know that for a fact. But im not sure my specific rank...i think i might be 5th or 6th....but then again i might be 10....i have no idea, and the college office wont tell me
(grrr...they did tell me if i was in the senior class i would be salutatorian...and i know im not 1,2, or 3 in MY class...grrr)
my ideal school is in a city of about 130-500 (maybe 75o?) thou, (although i love boston b/c it doesnt feel big-nyc intimidates the crap outta me), has a student body of about 4-8 thousand undergrad and isnt just science centered (im interested in art history, history, sociology, and philosophy. i think i want to do an interdepartmental major thing between art hist, hist, (maybe nashian mathematics), and sociology, and then double major w/ philosophy) |
