making USAMO is very impressive. You managed to get a 9 on the AIME (especially after 102, a good but not ridiculous score on the AMC)? That's outstanding. Making USAMO means you're one of the best math students in the country, and it should def. help your app.

I wouldn't consider myself to be a prostitute, and I'm no fan of Huxley either.

Unfortunately, my seemingly good results on the AIME were not enough to qualify me for the USAMO. There is always next year...

Well done...
To quote, "He did what she suggested and returned to his uneasy pacing of the room. 'Impudent strumpet, impudent strumpet. The devil Luxury with his fat rump and potato finger …'"

I actually enjoyed it. On an unrelated note, have you ever read "Dogeaters" or, "A Handmaid's Tale"?

Dogeaters-no
A Handmaid's Tale- Yes. pg. 116 is a masterpiece.

I like the idea behind these dystopian novels, just not the syntax and diction of Huxley. Atwood is genius and the Biblical references are profound.

^ I tend to agree, and would rank Atwood above Huxley. Definitely try Dogeaters by Hagedorn. It is a true masterpiece!
