| Thanks.
One thing though. Can anyone give me a brief description on what reach/match means? I haven't been here long, so I've only gathered so far the scale is somewhat like this,
High reach
Reach
Low reach
Match
Are there other notches in the scale? And does reach imply that's it's "reachable" but difficult, or "reach but you'll probably never grasp it"? |

| Very good chance. I hope you were kidding about being a failure. Either that or you're way too stressed and need a vacation. lol |

| first of all, if you haven't even started junior year, what are you doing on CC?
second of all, you've got potential. and definitely not a failure.
third of all, relax. colleges look beyond grades. focus on what makes up you.
lastly, have fun. you're only young once |

| xybciba: I guess I'm not a failure, but I don't stand out either. Just another shiny apple in the market, I guess.
junieloo15: Being on CC the summer before junior year is not THAT early...besides, I want to know what I need to do before everything crystallizes. Thanks for the comforting message though. Don't worry, there's still a month of summer left! |

| Err...thanks.
But that wasn't the point at all. This is a "chance" thread, isn't it? But why did only one person actually give me chances? :'( |

| Oh, I have some important updates (both good and bad).
First, the bad.
My GPA dropped due to sophomore year. My average is about a 93 unweighted, so that would be what, 3.8? Rank is not Ivy-worthy to mention :P I did start studying this year though, so hopefully I can pull it up and salvage the pieces.
The good:
Over the summer, my quartet played at several weddings and earned some decent ching-ching. It was a good experience and I can probably write an amusing yet insightful essay over it. So I guess I'm self-employed, plus the occasional musician that works under me for a networking fee. |

| My only suggestion is to decide which interests you are most passionate about and then try to excel in those. You've mentioned music, art, law and student government on your EC's and I can't really tell which is your highest priority. If you were to describe yourself in one sentence what would you say? |

| That's just the thing. I'm a dilettante, but I take a genuine interest in...everything I do. Art, music, law, student government. Those are the things I mentioned in my ECs. But what you don't know is that I also take an interest in Japanese, hip-hop, flute, and Chinese. Those interests are unacted upon as of now, because of limited time, but it doesn't make them any more superficial. The thing is, I know it looks like I'm not "sharp" enough on one particular subject if I spread myself over art, music, law, and government. But I have credentials to back up each of those interests, so it feels like a pity to discard any of them. |
