Chances please?

Female from Michigan
Major: Psychology
High school is ranked 2nd in state and first in state for AP scores

GPA: 3.86W/3.84UW (not that good, I know)
SAT: Horrible. 1820 (660 CR, 590 M, 570 W), will retake almost immediately in fall
ACT: 31
School doesn’t rank

AP Grades:
USH--3
Eng. Lang--4
Psych--5

Courses:

Freshman year:
Italian I
Civics (requirement)
Honors Earth Science
Honors Freshman English
Algebra I

Sophomore year:
Italian II
World History
Honors Biology
Honors American Literature
Honors Accelerated Geometry

Junior Year:
Italian III
AP US History
Honors Chemistry
AP English Language
Honors Accelerated Algebra II
AP Psychology

Senior Year:
AP Italian IV
AP European History
AP Biology
AP English Literature
Honors Precalculus

Plus Computer Applications (10), Health (11), and Art History (12) to meet graduation requirements

EC’s:
Italian Club (4 years) and Italian Honor Society (11 and 12)
Interact (a community service club sponsored by Rotary)—secretary junior and senior year (member all four years)
SADD (10, 11, 12)
Volunteering at public library sophomore year
Job at Italian pizza place (I start today, actually)

Other information: I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder, and receive special accommodations which I rarely use (not sure how to express that in applications). Does have an effect on my school work, but for the most part I’ve been able to work through it. Freshman year, the year I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder, was especially hard. Some/most essays will deal with this.

I attended pre-college at Carnegie Mellon University the summer before my junior year.

Colleges:
University of Michigan
Michigan State University (legacy)
Providence College (legacy)
University of Richmond
Albion College
Kalamazoo College
Villanova University

I realize a lot of people don't know much about many of these schools...I'm looking for chances mostly for UMich, MSU, and Villanova. Maybe Richmond, too.

Forget the SAT and submit your ACT which is an excellent score. You look good for all schools on your list if you apply EARLY to the rolling admissions schools...U-M, MSU, etc. S is a rising junior at Kalamazoo if you have any questions, where you'll likely qualify for a merit scholarship with your stats.

Just based on the published GPA-based honor roles, I'm probably top 10%

I think you have a decent chance at Providence and Villanova. Just make sure you apply EA. That will give you a better chance by far.

I agree with the above posters that you should submit your ACT scores instead of SATs...Good luck

What if...I already submitted my SAT scores because I thought I was going to do better on them than I did?

Unfortunately, I've already sent them to MSU, UMich, Richmond, and PC.

Order ACT score reports to be sent to those schools as well. They generally use your highest scores when reviewing your app. Don't worry about weak EC's for Michigan. They're all about the numbers first despite so-called holistic review. Again, it's critical to apply as early as possible so start working on your apps now.

MSU is definitely a safety. Their avg. ACT score is around 24 (and your score is a lot better). U Michigan is a match but as others have said will likely be an accept if you apply early, and don't know about the rest
