I really want to go to Dartmouth. Here is my resume:

I was born with only one leg, and my brother died when I was 3. I was accepted into Duke TIP in 2nd grade, and was advanced two grades in 1st grade (meaning I entered 4th grade when I should have entered 2nd). In Highschool I was
1st in my class every year. I made a 36 on the ACT, and I made a 2300 on my SAT. I was the Lacrosse team manager all four years of highschool, and I was Assistant Band Director all 4 years because I cannot march. In my junior year I was hit by a DUI in my car and lost my other leg. I have been in a wheelchair ever since. I was in Debate all 4 years and I have done an internship at the local public radio station in Senior Year and did a summer internship at UAB cancer research ward Junior and Senior Year. I am also mixed race and my father died in the army. I already have a $10,000 a year scholarship for college because of his death. My mother works 2 jobs and does not have a car. I have founded an Association to tutor people missing limbs like I did. We raised $130,000 last year.

What are my chances?

^ Um, sorry, but no. They will question your val status and your perfect grades becasue no one that smart would be so stupid as to drink and drive. The Ivy league has no place for students who have commited felonies before they are even 18. I am sorry if I am sounding insensitive, but you pretty must prevented youself from getting into the top schools.

Rmadden, wouldn't this mean he was hit by a person that was driving under the influence?

^^ He edited it from the orginal post. The first one made it sound like he got in a DUI when he was 17. However, I did not know that he got hit by a drunk driver, which is very differnet. I am sorry that I misunderstood your first post. Anyways, The fact that you are missing your legs, yet still do as amazingly as you do it very commendable. I say that you have a great chance at Dartmouth. Good Luck.

Wow RMadden- talk about insensitive.

Anyway em, you're in pretty much in at every school in the country. As a Dartmouth alum who loved it more than anything, my only caveat is that I think you might enjoy Harvard or Stanford more. Dartmouth in a wheelchair might be tough - given the winters and hilly campus. Princeton might also be a great bet.

Your story is completely inspirational. You have strong chances at any college you like, as you should for having persevered throughout your life.
