so i only want to apply for american university this fall, thus eliminating the high cost of applications and the worry between acceptance (or not) letters. what are my chances?

white female from massachusetts.
educated at a private catholic school, top 10 in my grade out of 162.
will graduate with a 4.15 w, and a 3.8-3.9 uw.
2 ap's junior year, will take 2 senior year. will have completed 10 honors classes by graduation.
sats: 680 cr, 580 m, 690 w.

ecs:
freshman: vocal ensemble choir, amnesty international.

sophomore: amnesty international, sophomore class treasurer, tutor at an elementary school, nhs, spanish award (given to the top student in each course), massmutual achiever.

junior: massmutual achiever, ap us history award, nhs, mexico service trip (during feb break, went to volunteer in impoverished mexico), amnesty international, regis college book award.

senior: nhs executive board treasurer, amnesty international co-president, mexico service trip, massmutual achiever, and most likely some awards at the end of the year.

I know a few people who got into AU recently. I'm 90% you'll get in, but if you only want to apply to AU, make sure you apply early!!! My friend got some great scholarships from them.

Good luck!

i think you're in great shape to get into American
HOWEVER, it definitely depends on what major you write down.
if you say that you want to study international relations, you are at risk of not getting in, because American is one of the top schools in that major, and you will be competing against thousands of other applicants who, will probably have higher SAT scores
if I were you, if you are doing international relations, although this is kind of lying (shhh), I would apply under a different major and then switch once you get in.
But that's assuming that you want to do international relations. if not, you're a shoooo in.

love ya and good luck honey!
