Another "will a AP score of 3 hurt me?" thread

Hi, I know this has been asked like a million times, but I am especially worried because I am an international student in need of financial aid. I took the AP world history test and got a 3... I REALLY thought I was gonna get a 5... especially with my teacher(who was a grader once) telling me that I would definitely get a 5 or a 4 atleast. All my other scores are on par with the typical CC stat. I'm just worried one 3 on my AP score will hurt my chances for Ivies a lot... I also heard that they don't even consider AP scores in admissions, but is this true? I will be taking 10 AP exams by the end of high school, and will one 3 hurt my chances really bad??? should I get this rescored??

i was hoping for a 3 and would have accepted a 2 but got a 5. I honestly think AP just draws the grade out of a hat.

You will not get rejected from a top school just because you barely passed an AP test. AP grades don't really matter in the admissions process, but it does matter when you try to waive course credits. You may get admitted into a top school, but they will definitely not grant you credit for a 3.
