i'm not average. my gpa is.

female, half pacislander half white
boarding school: a/e/d

i'm not average. my gpa is.

gpa on a 6.0 scale at A/E/D: 4.9ish
freshman year- 4.5
lower year- 4.4
upper year- 5.8
senior year- ...

extra-curriculars:
editorial board of newspaper (really prestigious)
editor in chief of lit magazine
vice prez of debating society
worlds debater
and a bit of comm service, too
worked as intern at gifted education program over the summers

and i've written a book. (not published yet.)

essays will be stellar, so will recs. got a glowing one from the head of the english department

dream school is yale, but i know that's a reach. keep in mind i'm coming from a school where the GPA that get you into the ivies is a 5.0-5.5, cause our scale is weird and colleges tend to weight our grades in the admissions process because it is super rare for anyone to get a 6.0/6.0

other schools that i'd love to go to: w&m, washu, vassar, brown, hamilton, duke, emory, reed, sarah lawrence, stanford, mcgill, umich ann arbor, unc chapel hill

safeties i'm considering (are they really safeties?): uW [oos], u of I [in state], nyu, bu, uT austin, usf

opinions would be really appreciated!

all I can say is, be a nerd next year.
yeah
concentrate on upping your GPA. if for one year you could get a perfect 6.0, you'd be dramatically improved

you have an odd list to me. some of the biggest schools in the country and tiny schools? schools in the middle of giant cities vs schools in the middle of nowhere? schools with a typically preppy/jock vibe and schools known for being quirky and artsy?

it seems to me you're all over the place. what exactly are you looking for in a school?

ok: so let's say i can get that 6.0 next fall. i'll work for it!

as for the varied schools, i'm looking for the right fit... i prefer big city or close-to-a-big-city location, and i'd rather be with the artsy independent kids, but besides that i'm not really specific just yet :X any schools you think i should knock off my list?

and... chances?? please? thanks husk and vader for responding !!

thanks
