No for NYU.
Boston College or Boston University?
Your SAT is WAY too low, same with GPA.
To give yourself a better chance, re-take the SAT and score 2100+.
Are you an URM?

you know.. some of the people here have very high standards
granted.. your GPA is on the low side

but i think a 1900 is great. the average for UCLA SAT's for example is a 2000.. which means 50% of the people applying scored lower..

i would shoot for higher with nyu since it is the nation's top college

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as saying "NO" like the first person said. Sure, a 3.25 isn't too great, but what was your course load? Did you take many honors and AP classes? Also, what are you ranked in your class?

Also, a 1930 isn't bad at all. NYU and BC are probably reaches, mostly because of that GPA, but BU is somewhat possible. Just don't rule everything out. Essays, ECs, and recommendations all come into factor.

I demand that you pat yourself on the back for a 1930 =)

Seriously, some of the people on this site are insane.

both NYU and BC will be far reaches. You're SAT is decent but your GPA is really what's going to kill you. You have to keep in mind that alot of people applying will have great stats. So unless you have a superb EC and essay, I would find some more safety schools

good luck

Is there any explanation for the GPA? Do you go to an insanely competitive private school? Did you have mono or something freshman year? Any of those types of explanations could help quite a bit. As it stands right now, though, BC and NYU are very large reaches, BU is doable though.

Should be able to get into Boston University.

BC and NYU are most likely rejections.

Other schools worth looking at:
- American University
- GWU
- Fordham

Awww... I like the encouragement I'm seeing rather than the bashing I thought I would have seen.

I agree, a 1930 isn't that bad (it's better than mine's). I have a higher GPA but still, remember that you are never going to know unless you try.

There's always a chance; there's no such thing as a 0% chance.

May be a bit of a reach but it never hurts to try. I am sure you are way more than those two numbers so emphasize those aspects. good luck!
