Please chance me...

Female from Michigan
Major: Psychology
High school is ranked 2nd in state and first in state for AP scores

GPA: 3.86W/3.84UW (not that good, I know)
SAT: Horrible. 1820 (660 CR, 590 M, 570 W), will retake almost immediately in fall
ACT: 31
School doesn’t rank

AP Grades:
USH--3
Eng. Lang--4
Psych--5

Courses:

Freshman year:
Italian I
Civics (requirement)
Honors Earth Science
Honors Freshman English
Algebra I

Sophomore year:
Italian II
World History
Honors Biology
Honors American Literature
Honors Accelerated Geometry

Junior Year:
Italian III
AP US History
Honors Chemistry
AP English Language
Honors Accelerated Algebra II
AP Psychology

Senior Year:
AP Italian IV
AP European History
AP Biology
AP English Literature
Honors Precalculus

Plus Computer Applications (10), Health (11), and Art History (12) to meet graduation requirements

EC’s:
Italian Club (4 years) and Italian Honor Society (11 and 12)
Interact (a community service club sponsored by Rotary)—secretary junior and senior year (member all four years)
SADD (10, 11, 12)
Volunteering at public library sophomore year

Other information: I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder, and receive special accommodations which I rarely use (not sure how to express that in applications). Does have an effect on my school work, but for the most part I’ve been able to work through it. Freshman year, the year I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder, was especially hard. Some/most essays will deal with this.

I attended pre-college at Carnegie Mellon University the summer before my junior year.

Colleges:
University of Michigan
Michigan State University (legacy)
Providence College (legacy)
University of Richmond
Albion College
Kalamazoo College
Villanova University

I realize a lot of people don't know much about many of these schools...I'm looking for chances mostly for UMich and Villanova.

Hi srgirl6,

I already chanced you for UMich before, so my eval remains the same.
However, I will chance you for your new schools that I'm familiar with (why did I remember you? ... your panic disorder ... that's still very fresh in my memory because very few people have that):

Michigan State: In -- Honors College is a safety match (From what I know, most alumni of MSU encourage their kids to attend State and to hate Blue and Yellow --- just found this quite interesting ... but UMich does offer a much more reputable education, because it really is internationally renowed)

Albion: In

Kalamazoo: In

Villanova: Safety match (They have a really good business program from what I know)

I hope you found this helpful.

It's strange in my family, really, because my mom (who went to State), would actually rather have me go to UMich. It's weird, because in my experience with classmates, you're absolutely right.

Thank you.

You are in for sure at all of them except maybe umich, which you will still probably get into. Oh, and my dad also went to state and he wants me to go to umich or kalamazoo. Good Luck.
