chances for Yale (gasp!)

Academics:
Taking the most challenging classes possible for me (given that I wasn't insane and doing calculus freshman year etc )
No GPA but it would be something like 3.77 UW (3.82 Junior Year)
*Private school, so very very very few people get all A/A- (like 6ish people)
Rank top5/120

SAT 750CR 760M 800W
SATIIs 770 Chemistry 740 Spanish 800 MathII

APs: Spanish (5) Chemistry (5)

EC's (i know they're not so spectacular)
3 sports per year, 5 Varsity letters (3 in track, 2 in soccer)
ESL tutoring for kids/adults at a local center (2hrs per week)
peer tutoring at school
1 year student government
mu alpha theta (Math club)
orchestra

Various academic awards, athletic awards

Soooo I was also wondering, is it worth it to apply EA? (Assuming I have everything ready in time?) I know that you shouldn't apply if you can't present yourself as best as you can by that time (or whatever it is that everyone says...) but is the acceptance rate really any higher?

Also, chances for LACs like Pomona, Wellesley, CMC and Middlebury? UCB?

Hi frogger_1234,

I'm happy to chance you ... but can you chance me too? Please chance me ... I'd really really appreciate it!.

You really did not put much ... how do you expect us to chance you accurately when all you gave us was your GPA ... you should also post your courseload (# of Honors/APs), standardized test scores, extracurriculars and any extenuating circumstances. GPA alone is not enough.

Chances:
Yale: Reach (It's a reach for anyone)

Good luck, and remember to chance me too!

Okay then... like I said, a tough course load all available honors (only offered in math and language),

2 APs (not many offered, maybe 12ish total and most can really only be taken junior or senior year. Not many people take more than 1 or 2.) I will take 2 next year as well.

anything else?

Your stats are fine but your ECs are a little lacking. About your sports: those can be a good EC if you play on decent teams and actually get playing time. It's probably not worth applying EA because you would be compared to a more competitive applicant pool, plus you can spend more time on your apps. I'm not sure about the LACs you listed but if they're elite (i.e. the level of places like Amherst), the same advice applies as for Yale.
