Chance Me Please
I've studied in an international school in India

Some of my stats:

SAT Subject Test: Math 2(760), Chemistry(800)
Sat 1: Math(770) Verbal (730) Writing (700) : 2200
Unweighted GPA: 3.75

ECs:

Dorm Council*2

Class President*1

Dorm President*1

Member of the student council for 3 semesters.

Member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

Community Service all 4 years: 75-100 hours a year, Teaching English at an orphanage during the vacations( 4 times)

Mathematics Internship at school (10,11,12)

Chemistry Internship at school(10,11,12)

Mathematics and Chemistry Tutor at school (9,10,11,12)

Member of the Debate Club, Winner of a 3 state Debate.

Scholastic Achievement Award ( 4 years)

Winner of School Math Competition

Runner Up in a statewide Math Competition

Best Language Student(9th grade)

Member of the Varsity Tennis Team

The hardest possible workload at my school

6 Ap Classes Senior Year

4 Ap Classes Junior Year

Microecon 5, Statistics 4 so far in the AP's

I am considering applying to Univ of Chicago, Northwestern Uni and John Hopkins as my reaches, Michigan Ann Arbor as my Target and U Illinois as a safety. Do i have a good chance of getting in my reach's or target?

I want to Apply to Princeton and Duke but is there any chance whatsoever?

Also if you could recommend any more good places for an econ undergrad, it will be greatly appreciated.

I think you have at least a solid chance at getting into Duke, I wouldn't be so sure about Princeton.

Maybe look into Carnegie Mellon and UCLA for undergrad economics? Both are below Ivy, but still good schools.

Do you know your class rank/%?

thank you so much for giving an honest opinion! im top 10 % in my class and also have a bunch of awards for outstanding community service...
by the way are my chances for michigan u and northwestern ok?

I think they would be.

For both schools, the average student's SATs are a bit lower than yours [Michigan more so] and in both 8%-15% are below top 10%. Of course, those stats aren't everything, but the fact that you're a bit better than their average student is definitely a plus.

What do you mean by "studied internationally"? Not a US citizen or what? Because that will make things a bit harder.

Just looking at the statistics for applicants, I think you would have a solid chance at Northwestern ED. Just make sure you *absolutely* want to go there.
