Transfer Chances at Lafayette College/ Connecticut College

I was looking for feedback on what my chances are at being admitted to either Lafayette College or Connecticut College as a transfer student.

Currently, I am a second semester freshman at NYU-Steinhardt majoring in Nutrition. My stats are as follows:

GPA: 3.547
SATs: 1860; 640 (M), 600 (V), 620 (W)
ECs: Club Lacrosse, Habitat for Humanity, Alternative Breaks (Community Service), Nutrition Club

High School Average: 88
AP US History-3, AP Bio-3, AP Art-5
High School ECs: Class Secretary, Class VP, Varsity Lacrosse, Varsity Field Hockey

My essay focused on how NYU was too big for me and that a small school that felt more like a community would be better for me. Any insight would be great.

Lafayette traditionally admits very few transfer students. The best indication of your chances for admittance is to check the class profile for the class of 2012 on their web site. Those statistics will give you a pretty good indication of the scores and GPA required for admission. Your scores seem to be on the low end, but certainly within the realm of possibility. What was your class rank in H.S.? However, accentuate the positive. Your work at NYU, a fine school in its own right, is a very positive indicator of what you will bring to the table if admitted to Lafayette. Apply, be honest, and let the chips fall where they may.

I am not aware that Lafayette offers a major in nutrition. I assume that you are aware that you would have to change your major.

I am not qualified to assess your chances at Connecticut College. Stay positive, and best of luck to you.
