UCSD actually has one of the highest standing medical schools, which made admissions for it really difficult. Your SAT scores is great!
What I would suggest is start considering international stuff. Like i.e., Going to a country (not your nation) and doing community service helping out homeless people. The Ivies love those kind of work, showing your leadership skills and your devotion to help people.
Looks like your centering on piano? That's great! you can even double major if you want, both bio and music. Northwestern is a great school for double major and I would highly consider that school if you consider double majoring.
Overall, you're pretty good to go! good volunteer hours, plenty of EC's, maybe a little more awards (national-wise). Plus you're doing sports too so you have high chances. But you should "spread out" on your activities too much. Ivies like it when you choose like 2 or at most 3 subjects and focusing on them.

I would say you have a good chance for cornell and john hopkins. But it also depends on where you kind of want to live. Cornell is pretty isolated.

you will get into several of these schools. i don't know about scholarship money to maryland if you are in state usually they try to give more money to out of staters

UMD CP has scholarship opportunities for in-state students, especially if you have any sort of financial need. Like most state-funded universities, the school has to accept a certain percentage of its students from Maryland, so the competition for the out of state slots is higher meaning a large portion of the scholarship money goes to in-state students as the majority of the student body as a whole are from in-state. A friend of mine (also in-state) was offered a scholarship by them a few years ago that covered a little over half his total cost for all four years and he had similar SAT scores to yours with a slightly lower gpa and only a slight financial need. Search for scholarships that relate to your major, ethnicity, gender, your musical interests, etc. as well. They're there if you look, but might not necessarily be offered by the school.

Many schools also offer scholaships to students with high SAT scores such as yours if they meet a minimum gpa level. Not sure if UMD does this though.

tahts interesting. i know that SUNY schools in general save merit scholarships for out of state (this good just be because they are ridiculously cheap in state or out) and thats the way ive heard for msot others as well. this could just be because i only recieve scholarship info as an out of stater to many schools.

UMD college park you should get a lot of money from. the other schools are reaches for everyone, but you should get into AT LEAST 2 of those big name ones, if not more...

Brown, Duke and Cornell might be low reaches but I think you'll get in. The rest you should get in. Nice Stats! You could get into all of them.

I disagree with the Johns Hopkins statement by the last poster. I think you stand a good chance of getting in but the main issue might be that your in-state and most Johns Hopkins students are from out-of-state.

I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with your JHU statement. Their acceptance rate was almost 30%, and for ED it was like 45%. That's ridiculous.

Your stats are excellent, the music and NIH internship ECs as well. There's no question you'll get in to many of your choices. The NIH summers could be really helpful; it depends what you did with your time there. Are you thanked or mentioned in a research study, great. Did you file papers, not so much. Another school to look at for bio & music is Tufts. Their new music program is a big focus and their pre-med program is tops. Thanks for chancing my S.

I'd like to clarify something Carin said. ED at Johns Hopkins is not any easier than RD, the only thing is fewer people apply and a lot are accepted in the ratio to that. About 1000 students apply for ED at Hopkins every year and the most recent acceptance rate was 47% or 48% i believe which seems like a really high percentage but really isn't when you look at the number of people applying in total. Overall the acceptance rate was 27% out of about 16,000 applications. ~4500 were accepted but only about 1300 matriculated.

Brown (ED)- low- to mid reach... have you read the article on this year's applicants? It's posted on the Brown Class of 2014: ED thread (toward the very end as of now). and... 22% more people have applied ED to brown this year! I'm so nervous... Also, there were more people who applied to the PLME program this year, so I'm not quite sure of your chances with that. It's really competitive as they only accept like 20 students (as I remember...) but you do have an ok chance of getting into PLME. It seems like a really hard program to get in so I can't really chance you well on that.

I've always thought it was just a great lakes thing cuz on the book I got, it said it was for the great lake states, but I guess it must be done regionally then =)
Berkley - in California? ummm... i think it would be match if you lived in California, but I don't think they take a lot of out-of-state people, so i would say low match.
