I realize Southern Cal, UVA, and Tulane are all reaches!

I agree with jkaplan. You look like quite a competitive applicant and I think you'll get into most, if not all of the schools in your list. Don't worry so much.

syracuse, Tulane, and VT are all pretty much sure shots for you but do you live in virginia? because applying instate vs. out of state is a completely different story to UVA because of their charter that forces them to accept 2/3 of their students instate...but other then that you have a really good shot at all of those

I think you're really doubting yourself; I think you're in at Tulane, VT, and South Carolina; you have a great GPA, solid SAT, and great extra-currics... just how many AP's/Honors have you taken b/c that's huge? otherwise, I'd say UVA is your biggest reach, and from VA, I'd say USC is a low-middle reach (def within your range)

6 APs and all honors (except a bio class in 10th grade... haha)... Southern Cal is my dream school, but the applicant stats on here make it seem so hard! Yeah, UVA is a big reach, especially since a lot of higher-ranked kids from my school are applying.

nah, with that transcript, (which is almost identical to mine, lol)... it seems like USC shouldn't be too difficult for you; one of my friends is applying and he has a great shot w/ a 1390 SAT (which is a little higher), but I don't think his extra-currics are as solid as yours... you shouldn't worry too much about USC; UVA is a cinch, though, for in-staters (I just realized you live in VA)... in fact, I'd say you get in to all your schools, w/ a possible deferral from UVA (but from Virginia, you have a much better shot)
