So I'm in 10th grade right now and we had a essay for Ethnic Literature class and i finished mine and my friend needed help on him so i sent my him mines and i told him that he could look at it for an example. My friend went and copied and made stupid errors to make it seem like it wasn't the same but then the teacher caught him and she gave us both referrals but, she gave him a F and didn't do anything to my grade because he confessed on plagiarizing my essay. I know it was a stupid mistake and i will NEVER do that again. I honestly thought it wasn't my fault(well a tiny little bit but, come on) I'm a 3.75 - 4.0 student, and i got a 4.0 semester grade. How will this mishap affect my college application??

P.S - I do Dragon Boat( a paddling sport), and i do Wing Chun( a martial arts) and I've volunteered for the past 5 marathons. I'm currently teaching myself C++ because I plan on majoring in Computer Science and then going on to apply for a job as game programmer.I'm also trying to reteach myself Algebra II on my off time in the summer because next year I'm taking Pre Calculus and i need a good foundation in Algebra II, and I also bought a book the College Board's SAT prep book so i can get some preparation for the SAT's, I'm aiming for 1900-2150.

I'm not totally sure but i think you can get your teacher or counselor to say you gave it as an example and it was misunderstood or whatever

The dean already called me into the office and said i got a referral. My teacher told me i got a referral but, didn't lower my grade, she gave me a A that grading period.
