Accepted

I got in!! and was selected as a Balfour Scholar - so I get around $16,500 a year!

I think this school needs more recognition...

Congrats!

Congratulations, Janette! And a Balfour, too! You must be thrilled: all that hard work has come to fruition.

I also applied to Wheaton (first choice) as well as to several other liberal-arts schools in New England. As I've been "lurking" in these CC forums, I've seen a whirlwind of discussion surrounding these so-called "early writes," which admissions committees at Amherst, Bowdoin, etc. have begun to send out in early March to notify accepted students ahead of their other potential college choices. It seems that Wheaton may also be jumping onto the "early write" bandwagon, which certainly makes for a less anxious March for applicants!

All the best, and take care!

As the deadline approaches...

By the way, janette, would you be willing to disclose some of your stats? I'm curious to see some of the hooks that might have qualified you for a Balfour. Also, had you submitted all your FA paperwork (including you and yours' 2006 Federal Income Tax Return) before receiving the award letter? Thanks.

All applicants should receive an email--today I think--with information about how to find out online, on Saturday, if they've been accepted. Of course, the letters will be hitting the mail by the end of the week, too.

YEa, it's a backup for me too. I'm already in at a better school, so it's unlikely I'll be attending, but, it'll still be interesting to know!

Just got accepted... also as a Balfour Scholar! It's a scholarship that includes a $4k stipend to do research over summers.

I'm pretty sure I won't be attending, however. But the stipend thing was pretty neat.

Accepted as a Trustee Scholar here.

Not entirely sure if I'm going though. I also loved the nice little link for the admissions letter...builds suspense.

I'm a Trustee scholar as well. My friend is a Balfour scholar. I'm pretty sure I won't be attending, however, since I've already been accepted at my first choice. Still makes me feels pretty darn special $10,000 is very nice!

accepted for Spring 08

My D got a letter congratulating her on being accepted for the spring. That was a blow combined with a lousy fin aid pkg.
