Packing for WU

I was just wondering if any current or recently graduated students had any advice of dorm materials specific to Willamette. I have a basic list but I was just wondering if there is something strange that is useful specifically for Willamette that I might have missed. Also, I know there's not a lot of flexibility with furniture in the dorms, but does anyone have any good advice for room organization? Would it be possible to fit this item over the bed? http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/prod...&BTSMode=true& It seems like it would be really useful, but I don't know whether it would fit around the beds at WU when you can't really move to much.

The shelf may or may not fit. There are 2 heights of beds in Belknap/Matthews, one is pretty short (maybe 8" under it) and the other is tall enough for a mini fridge to go under it. Most rooms have one of each, but my room freshman year (in Belknap) had 2 of the tall beds, so you never know.

You should be fine with the typical dorm stuff. I found that there was enough storage for my stuff. The furniture is basically all built in, so I wouldn't bring anything too big. I did bring a rug, which was nice because the carpet is cheap industrial stuff and it's getting ugly.

Ok thanks, I think I'll buy the shelf (I'm doing the Pack and Hold thing and picking it all up at the Bed Bath and Beyond in Keizer), and if there's not room I'll just return it. If you don't bunk your beds, is there any room for any sort of chair besides the one at your desk? I was looking at a chair like this one: Bed Bath & Beyond Product It supposedly folds, but obviously I don't want to pay forty bucks if I'll never have space to actually sit on it. And it's obviously not necessary in any way, but it would be nice if threre was room...

hi applesauce, the chair looks great and even if you don't have room in your room you will be able to take your own chair to the lounge for movie nights or whatever. Also you can bring it outside on sunny days if the adirondack chairs are all taken. Since it clearly doesn't take up a lot of space when collapsed it seems like a good purchase that would be used even if not in the room. If you want to save some bucks, similar chairs are available for 20.00 and less at outdoor supply stores, Costco and Wal-Mart though they may not be as cushy or have the same color choices.

Also, if you want to wait to see how much space you do have you can probably pick one up locally or still order the BB and B one
