Concentration vs. Major

I'm really interested in everything about Williams (the small size, community atmosphere, liberal arts curriculum, etc) but I would like to do International Studies, and I noticed that the website didn't list IS as a major at Williams. There is a "concentration" for IS though. What does this mean?? Also, if I wanted to do some kind of international studies major that isn't offered, is there an opportunity to design a major?

yadlin,
I think you can find the answers to all of these questions and more in the course catalog at the following site:

http://www.williams.edu/admin/registrar/catalog/

As you mentioned, there is no IS major but there is a concentration in that area (check out page 80 to get details). Good luck

In the 2007-2008 Bulletin, you can read about the "Contract Major" starting on page 131, and the International Studies concentration starting on page 204.
