I'm pretty sure fish are allowed, although I've never heard of anyone actually having any. To be sure, you could try checking the student handbook; I think it's posted somewhere on the college web site.

This is one of those things that you should just do and ask questions later, IMO.

Yeah I would say just go ahead and do it and worry about the rules if you run into any trouble. Plead ignorance when questioned

Just make sure to take them with you during breaks so you don't get caught by security room inspectors.

I read somewhere that no pets are allowed. Are fish counted as pets?

Fish are the only pets that are allowed.

It's not a great idea to try to bring other types of pets. You may get a fine. Your pet may end up homeless. Once Security finds, or suspects you have, an illegal pet, you may be inviting a very thorough search of your room (and you may be fined for possessing forbidden items like candles and hot plates, and get reported to the town police and Williams deans if drugs are found).

Williams will send pre-frosh a list of forbidden items over the summer. The College takes the list seriously (most of the items on the list are forbidden because they are considered to pose serious safety risks for those living in a dorm -- guns, fire hazards, and the like).

Yup, Grace is right - fish are the only pets allowed.
