Williams Transfer

Has anyone transferred into Williams? How have you found the experience? Did you feel like you limited yourself at all by transferring (as far as study abroad opportunities, socially, academically) or have you been happy with the decision?

A few students who have transferred into Williams have posted here in the past, including one who applied for and was successfully named as a JA (Junior Adviser, a coveted and prominent position on campus) in the year of his transfer. I have not seen them posting recently, however, most likely because they're so involved (academically and extracurricularly) in the fast pace of their Williams experience.

Are you an admissions officer onemoremom?

This is a great source for potential applicants from the Williams Record.

The Williams Record - Archives-Articles

All the transfer students I know tend to be very driven and immersed in making the best of their lesser time at Williams. Studying abroad may be difficult if you have not fulfilled all the divisional requirements, but it is certainly possible. The article does point out some problems fitting into the social life though, a problem for anyone that does not fit into the Williams mainstream.
