help an international

hello!
im a girl from croatia (ex-yugoslavia, WWW.HR - About Croatia) and I attend the ib programme in a competitive school. im ranked in top 15%, 35-37 pts, i established mun and debate teams in my school, i was 5th on a national competition in french, in 9th grades i was in handball natioanl team and now i play soccer (recruitment) and basketball, voluntary work, and many other acitivites such as european youth parliament and yearbook, working for a month (40hrs/week) and will have pretty good recommendations.
i took sats 2, french and world history and got 660 (disappointing). i wont take the sat1 due to lack of time.
i'm looking for a liberal arts colleges that offer a need-based FA to ints.
i think croatia is underrepresented so i think this could be a plus as well.

i found mount holoyke college and i like it. do i have any chance?

can u suggest me any women's colleges with a liberal atmosphere on the campus and of course that i stand a chance?

thank you

You could also try looking at Smith College, which, like MHC, is test optional and has a very liberal atmosphere.

"The SAT I or ACT is required for students being instructed in English. The TOEFL or IELTS are required for students being instructed in a language other than English."
since i do tbe ib school (in english) i guess it applies to me.

yes, at most schools you would then be required to take the SAT I or the ACT. Though I as Smith and MHC are apparently "test optional" I am not sure if this would apply?

My mistake. I didn't realize Smith was only test-optional for US residents. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other women's colleges that were SAT I optional. Bryn Mawr would take three SAT IIs but I assume if you don't have time for the SAT I you don't have time to take a third subject test.

Hi luluzg, I'm not a girl but I'd say that the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I, formerly) is a very basic test that any international student should take if they want a decent chance to get in anywhere. With the IB, the Subject Tests are even less important (or maybe not). I know you don't have time, but whatever little time you have, you should consider using it to prepare for the Reasoning Test. Even one month is enough to do this.

Anyway, I know for sure that Connecticut College is test optional, even for internationals. You should check the website, though, as this might have changed, but of course, this is not a women's college. Nevertheless, MHC is worth a shot; definitely apply.

You could also try Sarah Lawrence College which is completely test optional (they don't even look at scores) and has some financial aid for internationals.
