| March 5 visit
We were there for a few hours on 3/5.
Overall presentation was great. Great speakers and content.
The business college presentation rocked - from a parent's perspective. The department heads each did great individual presentations. Focus was on preparing the students to have a good job at the end of 4 years - 73% of students are employed before they graduate.
Each student is assigned a mentor. That mentor communicates regualrly to the student (e-mail and in person) to guide them on their way. The presented some of their list of mentors - which were some very hig ranking corporate people - like the owner of the Reds.
New COB building was the best I have seen. New dorms coming for the fall (suites).
It was a great presentation. Alas, I do not think my osn will end up their. For one, we are in one of the largest high schools in IL - 4500+ kids - which is the same size as X.
My son would like more social opportunities - more people mean more options. And it's not like he's choosing a lower quality college to do so.
I would be happy if he chose X - but I am happy with his first choice as well.
