well, they offered wait list positions to 1000 students. of whom they're only going to accept 50. so ur chance is 5%. but be happy, u know that ur qualified to go to yale and that u fell in the top 12% of their 22,000 applicants. its an accomplishment just to be wait listed. my recommendation is to get excited over a different school u got accepted to and whatever happens, happens. its all luck here on out.

hmmm, will they only accept 50? it seemed to me that they actually accepted fewer people than is in their normal class this year, therefore, it would seem logical that they both need to fill out their class and replace people who have decided that won't attend

When will we find out about the waitlist? I just made my deposit to Princeton yesterday, but Yale was my first choice (both of my parents went there :|) and I'm dying to find out if I got in.

Yale Daily News is reporting that Yale will offer admission to about 45 people on the waitlist this year.

No that's incorrect. You're chances are probably better than 5 percent, considering that not all 1000 waitlisted students accepted their position on the waitlist.

hey guys, sorry to disappoint anyone, but it looks like many/most (if not all) of the waitlist positions have already been offered this past week. if you look at facebook there are at leas 7 people that got in off the waitlist. maybe they are still deciding on 10 more for this next week, but basically they were quick and quiet about calling in their 45.

It seems that most people heard on Friday (May 9th). Did anyone who got off the waitlist at Yale hear after Friday? Or have all the offers already been made on Friday?
