ACT 34 Composite, but Writing Score a 6

Does an ACT writing score of 6 effectively destroy my chances for Yale even with an UW GPA in IB of 4.0 and decent ECs?

No...applications are looked at as a whole. Besides, you got a composite of a 34, which is good.

(Do you honestly feel like a 34C and 6 on the writing section will "effectively destroy [your] chances for Yale even with an UW GPA in IB of 4.0 and decent ECs?")

i doubt that yale looks only for test scores...a lot of it has to do with ec's, since so many people have absolutely stellar test scores...
i think your scores are fine, and you should concentrate more on the essay and your EC's...good luck!
