Please evaluate my SAT cr score

I took the SAT in June and got a 2310. my cr was 710. is this going to drag me down? do i have to retake the test since my EC was quite plain?

I think it depends on what you're field on interest is. If you want to be an English/humanities major, then yes you might want it higher. But, if you are math/science major, that score is fine. My math score was 700 and my CR was 800, and I don't think i'm going to retake it. I hate math anyway.

Yes, I think the only way you can tell clearly is
a.) if you want to major in the humanities
b.) if you think your score will improve much (if you do decide to retake, make sure you do a lot of studying- I will be retaking my math as well and will probably do Kumon or something similar, which a friend of mine says is EXTREMELY useful).

no it won't drag you down. don't waste your time retaking... 1510/2310 is good enough anywhere even if your major is english haha

I disagree AKittka. It largely depends on what college you want to go to. If it's Yale, I recommend raising your score; the CR is one of the most important test scores when applying to this particular college- ESPECIALLY if your major is going to be in the humanities. For Ivy league standards, a 710 is a bit below average, and assuming you want to major in the hum. there is no doubt about it- take it again. If you don't want to major in the hum. I would still retake it, although it is not AS important if you don't.

Simple and sweet:
If your major is in hum, take it again. Trust me.
If it is another major, still retake it. CR is regarded as the SAT section of prestige and is looked at above the others (unless you are going to major in math).

^ this from a high school freshman?

get out of here while you still can. LIVE a little-- then, if you really feel the urge, come back in 2 and a half years when these things are a little more relevant to you.

Here's an important message: As long as you have the activities and and a solid essay, you will be fine... it is possible to be admitted with a cr as low as 670 : )

I have the same problem as you but my M score is also quite low (730) so I'm probably going to retake it since both my CR and M are on the low side.
I'd say 2310 is a pretty darn good score though!
