I sent in my REA application three days ago (October 30th). Today, a Yale Alum called me today asking me if I could do an interview with him tomorrow. I was (and am) ecstatic that Yale set up the interview with me. However, I also am not sure if they do this with all REA applicants or if I am special. Do people usually have to ask for an interview, or should I be happy that they came to me?
Interviewers usually get in touch with the students. While it's nice that you're having an interview, it doesn't mean anything one way or the other about your application. (And won't have much effect, if any, on your chances of admission.)
