These are good, but kind of pricey rain boots. I saw a few pairs of these on campus last weekend on the rainy day, and my Yale D and I agreed, as rainboots go, these are among the cutest, and they come in lots of colors. You can winterize them by wearing them with warm socks.

Family Weekend. It was great to go, especially since we have a freshmen. We saw the Duke's Men, the Ballroom Dance Exhibition, D- pops concert, took our D to dinner and ate in the residential colleges. I have been cautioned by parents of upperclassmen that sometimes the weekend is not well timed. Next year, for example it is this weekend...Oct 20 something. D has 2 midterms, 2 papers and it would be a terrible time to visit. Also the hotels are really pricey during this time (OMNI $399/night!). So we want to visit each fall, but will pick an choose weekend based on Ds schedule, not Family Weekend. Will miss the concerts and the lectures, but that is icing...visiting our D is the cake.

DD was quarantined until late Friday nite with H1N1, but was free for Saturday (still feeling a little tired). We used the weekend to help her get a little caught up - we took her laundry, gave her clean sheets, did some grocery shopping, etc. while she was resting.
We went to the Museum of Natural History and the DPops Concert on Saturday. I was really happy we were already scheduled to be there, I felt better seeing she looked pretty good and it was nice knowing we made the next week easier. These kids are so busy - when they miss a couple of days, it is really tough.
