I think it'll be 5, but maybe not...

How is everyone going to check? I will be at a track meet all day so I am debating whether I should wait until I get home to check (like 9 pm) or whether I should gather a select group of track friends to sit with me while I open the decision on my phone at the meet.

@NorwegianFish: I received a self-scheduled on-campus interview before i ever handed in my app. i applied RD and no interview even in NY-Long island area. Just like you, i havent heard one thing from Yale other than "weve received your application, etc" at all. sent updates to my regional officer and also never got an answer.-- still have to be optimistic now- an acceptance tomorrow would be amazing. pure joy.

@ermsypermsy: for the record, Jackie, the girl who made that video, is one of my best friends. I think its really great that you guys can appriciate how much she cares about going to yale, without feeling competitive yourselves.

we're all hoping she gets in (and hoping for ourselves as well)

@everest23: I'm not doubting you, but where'd you get that from?
@chickybugger: Hey, we all love Yale, and I like her initiative Tell her good luck from all of us on the thread!
And there's no point being competitive-- all of you guys are at least, if not more, qualified than I am, and if I receive a rejection, it's nice to imagine one of you, maybe including Jackie, jumping up and down in happiness as they read their acceptance

We're all in this together, not to be cliche. But seriously, it's somewhat of a random luck draw. And although I'm sure we'll all be sad if rejected, none of us should really take it as an ego blow.

When I first started looking at Yale, I thought my fellow applicants would be snobby and just try to beat out everyone else without regard to anyone's feelings. Part of the reason I fell in love with Yale is because I quickly discovered how false that was-- the prospective Yalie 2016ers are a really supportive group

No I understand. For some reason, I don't exactly remember where I got it from... all I know is that something caused me to put "Yale Decisions - 6 pm" in my iCal. Soooo.... I guess I'm actually not sure. Either way, I'm going to start checking at 5 pm. probably 4 pm haha

I'm so scared. But so excited! In all honestly, good luck to every single one of you. I'm with ermsypermsy, you all sound like amazing kids who are more than deserving of an acceptance of a lifetime like this. It would be surreal for me to become a Yalie with you guys, but if I don't get that opportunity, I'd say there's no better consolation than knowing that there are some sincerely great people receiving it in my place.

Keep the good thoughts churning!

Let's do something to distract ourselves.

VOILA, the Random Questions Game! (My boyfriend makes fun of how much I like to play this game...) Starting easy, getting more complicated.
1. Dream schools other than Yale?
2. Ever broken a bone? / Got a cool story about it?
3. Something interesting about you
4. A secret. It doesn't have to be major. But remember that none of us will ever know who the others are.
5. If you had a pet giraffe, what would you name it?
6. You just got a thousand dollars. What do you do with it?
7. Favorite AP course.
8. Do you consider yourself attractive?
9. What, in your opinion, is the most macho way to die?
and lastly,
10. Three things you're terrible at

I'll post mine after a few others do

Also, taking initiative: the SCEAers had a chatbox to decompress and just chat. So I've made one, just in case anyone wants to chat.
YaleRD2016 chat group - Less than 24 hours. Less than 7% admitted. Let's all be anonymous friends!!
Hopefully talk to some of you later tonight
