Holiday gift ideas in New Haven?

Hi all. DS is a first year grad student and I know n-o-t-h-i-n-g about New Haven. Are there any restaurants, bakeries or shops from which he might appreciate a gift card? TIA.

Check out the restaurants on Yale Law school's website: Dining | Yale Law School
If you cannot find something to your student's liking, there's always: Apple Retail Store - New Haven

Someone posted this info about cake deliveries.
The cake gets delivered directly to residential colleges and they might deliver to apartments?

There are tons of nice restaurants in NH, so it's a bit hard to answer specifically without knowing what your son likes. Thali-two might be a good choice for a grad student. My daughter likes the Atticus bookstore cafe for bakery stuff. There are also a couple of fro-yo places around (don't know their names).

You couldn't go wrong with this: Modern Apizza - New Haven - Gift Certificates

As good, if not better than Sally's and Pepe's.

Aside from apizza, and some would say, Yale, New Haven is also a hotbed of this:

Anytime Pass - Long Wharf Theatre

Gift Certificates Shubert Theater

Yale Repertory Theatre | Gift Certificates

Shake Shack just opened. Kumo's has great sushi, C.O. Jones on State St/Edwards St has GREAT marguarita's, fish tacos, enchilada's. The Trailblazer store on Elm/Broadway(across from Apple), Bella's is on Whalley Ave(about 3 miles up from campus in Westville Village) is an amazing place for weekend breakfast/brunch. Not sure if he is a rock climber, but there is a cool place called Prime Climb. Its an indoor rocking climbing spot in North Haven I think. So if he has a car, it should be easy for him to get to.
