Yale Early decision?

If I applied to Yale as a legacy AND applied early decision, what impact would it have on my acceptance rate? Also, would I be competing against a stronger applicant pool if I did apply ED?

Yale does not have ED (early, binding decision); it has SCEA (Single Choice Early Action, non-binding). SCEA has a smaller (perhaps non-existent) bump than ED.

You probably are applying against a stronger applicant pool early, but if it's a close call, Yale would defer you to the RD round.
