I think foreign languages are beast- everyone I've talked to has said the classes are really small and very, very well taught. Math and Science are more mixed. Biology is well-regarded, but many of the hard sciences are not quite as strong as some peer institutions (Stanford, MIT and Princeton especially). Math, though, is fairly strong, and psychology, a tangentially related field, is superb.
I was wondering about their math department a couple of weeks ago, so I went to their math page and found a link to an article saying "Yale has one of the smallest math departments in the country" and that they are understaffed, still looking for some teachers for some of their most popular math courses. I stopped considering Yale after that.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I love Yale (and EAed there) but now im wondering if I shouldve gone for Princeton or somewhere with better engineering.
